Why me?

Mindfulness mentoring is about me being a catalyst, to implement and manifest a change or transformation process in a person’s life. At its heart it is articulating and defining the Potential Self and understanding the Current Self. Together with a client we then build a personal approach to realise the full potential of your true self. You may be a high achiever and have all the wealth and success you have dreamt of; or indeed you may be striving to achieve your goals. The mind is most scattered when it tries to cling on to things and avoid or escape others; Mindfulness mentoring offers the potential of staying present with whatever there is, a wider perspective. Chances are there remains a void deep within you, something you can’t quite put your finger on. You have in the main been on auto pilot. If you find yourself resisting these words then chances are you remain on auto pilot and believe in your own story and thoughts, you are in fact much more than your thoughts and possessions. Have you ever really challenged your own assumptions? Or do you rely of the trappings of your wealth and power to re affirm your sense of identity and self? Maybe you surround yourself with others to do your bidding. It may be a lonely place.

With mindful mentoring I introduce you to supportive practices that are provided to support and guide each client step by step through the deeper phases of being the best that they can be. Yes there are more stages to you than you think!

If you choose my approach and to work with me I can be of help with some aspect of your life, mindfulness mentoring will change yours. The mentor relationship is a vehicle to affirm the value of, and satisfaction from, fulfilling a role as helper and developer for you personally. My role as a personal mentor is to listen and understand, to help guide you to your own inner power resource, mindfulness mentoring brings you to trust more in your true self, it empowers you to be the best that you can be.

I am primarily a mentor, not a nurse or coach, I don’t fix people. A mentor is like a sounding board, I offer only guidance based on the experience of my journey, you are free to pick and choose what you do. The context does not have specific performance objectives. Coaching can come into it however I prefer to work with people who prefer self-discovery rather than goal orientated objectives.

Coaching is trying to direct a person to some end result, the person may choose how to get there, but the coach is strategically assessing and monitoring the progress and giving advice for effectiveness and efficiency. Mindfulness Mentoring is a power free, a two-way mutually beneficial relationship. Mentors are facilitators and guides allowing the client to discover their own direction.

Mindfulness Mentoring allow you to discover in order to learn develop and grow further no matter what stage of life you are at or indeed what position you have attained, mindfulness mentoring enhances this.

Mindfulness mentoring allows my clients to provide their own solutions and leads to cognitive quality decision making. I always ask questions to surface a clients own thinking and allow them to find the answers themselves. The words best to describe how I work with clients are as a confidant, director, logical questioner and challenger. Coaches tend to have set agendas to reinforce or change skills and behaviours. The coach has objectives/goals for each discussion. The mindfulness mentor does not.

Coaching and Mentoring is not the same thing. Mentoring is a power free, two-way, mutually beneficial learning situation. There is respect on a peer level. Mindfulness mentoring provides advice, shares knowledge and experiences, and teaches using a low pressure, self-discovery approach. As a mentor I am both a source of information/knowledge and a Socratic questioner. Mindfulness brings it into the present moment, makes it real. You can call on The Mindfulness Mentor to discuss things related to work life or relationships in total confidence or simply things that you have been thinking about.

The Mindfulness Mentor approach is based on the assumption that our greatest opportunity is for self-realisation & growth. Personal Improvements are represented by our strengths and passions, if you have lost these then what’s next for you? Emptiness?

Mindfulness Mentoring helps discover and unleash existing hidden talents, challenges beliefs and exposes talents and strengths instead of trying to improve on weaknesses.

Mindfulness mentoring deals with who you truly are at your core, not who you think yourself to be.
